South Korea's coffee scene is thriving. In the capital city of Seoul, customers can take their pick from thousands of coffee shops, and there are plenty more noteworthy outlets throughout the rest of the country. Softer Volumes has put together a selection of some of the best cafés in Seoul—as featured in our recently published book, Softer Volumes: Cafés.
LIFE is located in Gangnam, Seoul. Developed by FastFive and designed by Ian Lee, the building contains 140 micro-apartments. Clean lines, light colours and hidden storage create space, and shared facilities and weekly events create a sense of community.
MO-NO-HA café and its adjoining store is a modern exploration of the 20th century Mono-ha art movement.
